State Rooms & Cloister

The state rooms and cloister are only open to guided tours. Please refer to our tour dates. Tickets for guided tours can be booked in our online box office. New dates are added weekly with clearly indicated times.


Monday-Sunday 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. 2.30 p.m. and 4.30 p.m.

Palace tours

The Treasury & Stables

Visitors are invited to view the stables and treasury during opening hours without joining a guided tour. Please book your entrance tickets for guided tours in our online box office at the bottom of the page. New dates are added weekly with clearly indicated times.


Opening Hours
Saturday–Sunday/public holidays: 11:00am – 4:00pm (final admission: 3:30pm). It is not necessary to join a guided tour.

Can I book a group guided tour?

If you would like a personal guided tour for your group, please send us your order by email to museum(at)thurnundtaxis.de or using our contact form at least two weeks prior to your preferred date. You can choose your own time for the tour (subject to availability). Group sizes are limited to 35 persons. Larger groups will be divided and start with an appropriate time interval. A flat rate of €140 (for each new group of ten) is charged for small groups of fewer than 10 people with their own palace guide. Prices for groups of 10 or more otherwise start at €14 per person. Children up to the age of 10 receive free admission when accompanied by an adult.

Are there limitations for visitors with restricted mobility?

Please note that the Princely Museums are only suitable for visitors with restricted mobility to a limited extent! There is nowhere to sit down in the state rooms, and there are steps in all areas of the museum!

Is it possible to use the wash room during the guided tour?

It is not possible to use the wash room during the guided tour!

Who receives reduced or free admission?

School children, students and severely disabled persons are eligible for reduced admission.

Persons accompanying holders of a severely disabled pass marked B. and children up to the age of 10 receive free admission.

Is it permitted to take photographs during the guided tour?

Photography (cameras or smartphones) is prohibited in the rooms. This also applies to journalists, bloggers and influencers.

Can I cancel a booked ticket?

Refunds are not offered for booked tickets.

How do I get to St. Emmeram Palace?

You will be welcomed in the waiting area, at the entrance to the museum ticket box in the palace entrance (path through the rose garden). Visit the ‘Contact & Directions’ section for detailed instructions on how to get here.
